Clocks have gone back already!

I can't believe we are at that time of year again! What happened to the summer!? Having said that I do enjoy the extra hour today! I could definetly get use to a 25 hour day! Especially as the extra hour was spent reading through my dissertation research (not much fun) but in this gorgeous and warm blanket!
Just to keep that look of spring and summer alive a little longer we have this lovely fair trade printed shopper for all you seasonal fruit and vegetables! It is only £5 and can be found on our website www.keepersmakers.co.uk
We hope you enjoyed your extra hour and love to hear how you spent it!

A Wet and Windy July

Yes, again, we are all talking about the weather!

But what should be talked about is the brilliant British determination our wet summers bring out in us. Here at Keepers Makers HQ we attended a variety of events through July including the Blackdown Hills Market, the Somerset Steam Spectacular in Langport, and the Watchet Carnival. All were met with rain, the later two enjoyed some mud and all events still enjoyed a wonderful atmospehere, a very good turnout and brilliant resilliance to the rain!

We are very impressed at the local support to these events and proud to be a part of it. So despite the continuing forecast of drizzle, heavey and light rain with thundery showers, we are definetly still going to enjoy the list of summer events and we hope you will too! Besides, it does mean that there is an excuse to buy colourful wellies, ponchos and umbrella's!
We thought these rather sweet little recycled tin watercan's were perfect to use around the house to make sure that your indoor plants were treated to similar amounts of watering as the outdoor ones!
A little treat to brighten up the home whilst it is gloomy outside. Of course the optimist in us will say that the tin watering cans will then be handy for watering outdoor plants in the dry indian summer later in the year!

To match the fairtrade recycled tin watering cans we have the pretty recycled tin birds houses. You can find these on the Keepers Makers website or they are being stocked in Buttercups and Roses and 8 Swain Street in Watchet.

Just a little update this time as we continue design new items! Look out for our new range of stock coming soon!
We will keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine days!
Best Wishes,
Jacquelyn and Georgie at Keepers Makers.

Our first post!

Here we would love to share our ideas and projects that we are embarking on with our little business Keepers Makers!
Firstly, to continue with the spring trend of the new, we also have a shiny new website! We love to craft all sorts of items out of recycled and vintage material. Just because we can't wait to show off the new website and so you can see what sort of items we create please visit:
Here we are going to share how we make these items because we believe that no material should go to waste! Also just share our thoughts on the general trials of craft being a business. We are also involved with Fair trade products and you will see on our website that we include a variety of fair trade products. We will almost certainly share our thoughts on the fair trade process!
Please check back soon for the next installment!
Hope your enjoying the fresh bursts of spring!
Best wishes,
Jacquelyn and Georgie
